Honda accord 2008 temperature gauge reads high when car is cold

my Honda accord 2008 temperature gauge rise to highest (H) position when the car engine is cold. Immediately after the ignition is switch on and before the car engine is started. I disconnected both temperature harness from the switch but still goes into highest position.

Check and test the coolant temperature sensor and wiring back to the computer for short and open circuit
