engine stalls and restarts

My car stalls while driving at slow speed, everything goes off, radio, fans, lights all. when I crank it again it starts. If I am at moderate speed, the engine restarts itself. an expert advise would be greatly appreciated.

Check the ignition switch.

Is this a manual or automatic transmission?
