I'm about to have my brake light switch replaced for the 3rd time in less than 1 year! I discovered, by brake lights do not turn off. I discovered this because my cruise control wasn't working, I had the switch replaced, cruise worked but within a short time, my brake lights weren't turning off unless you gave the brake pedal a quick tap. I noticed the brake switch, makes a little click noise. The switch is going bad again, after 3 months. I notices by brake lights are on as I'm driving. The auto shop has tried different manufactures of the brake light switch. I'm getting scared to drive my truck anymore. Everytime I do, I have to tap the brake, see if my cruise will come on to know my brake lights are not stuck, and that the guy behind be wont plow into me.

I can't tell for sure what is going on? Maybe a wiring connector or wiring circuit? I looked up how your brake switch works, there is continuity through the brake switch for stop lamps until you step on the brake, that disrupts, opens the circuit to the bcm, then the bcm knows to send voltage for the stop lamps. The bcm sends voltage to stop lamps. Does you high-mount stop lamp work?

Are there any bcm codes?

The high mount brake/reverse lamp doesn't work, and I really don't know for how long. My cab leaks on both sides of header, so I assumed that was related, poor seal or something. I haven't had any error codes, other than occasionally I over fill gas tank and I get an error. My turn signals have been silent for a long time, including door chimes. But the radio still works fine.

The bcm controls both turn and stop lamps. You may want the bcm checked out?
