Where is it located under the hood? Any pictures will be great. Thanks

These only came with a 3.5L V6. This is what the sensor looks like, it is located at the front right of the engine just like the diagram (check the diagrams below).

Well, i have looked in the same location as the picture showing i see the O2 sensor, but under that the heat shield and the exhaust. i saw a wire going behind the heat shield and the exhaust, but i want to make sure its the crank sensor before i take the exhaust off.

You might need to remove the exhaust to get to it. Did you try from under the car?

There is more than likely an opening to access the sensor through heat shield. Any luck rom under the car?

I have the same car, a 2008 Ford Taurus Sel 3.5. I can’t find the crank sensor either. I’ve looked at the diagram, went to auto parts store, jacked up car. I just need help .

Hello,
The crankshaft position sensor is located on the lower side of the engine. Right next to the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) on the driver side of the engine. The connector faces the front of the vehicle.
In order to get to the sensor, you will have to remove the exhaust manifold on that side as the heatshield.
