2008 Dodge Ram Slt 4 7 L Manual Transmission Will Fully Engage Times Fluctuates

My 2008 Dodge Ram SLT 4.7 L Manual Transmission Will not fully engage at times. It fluctuates between 2300-2900 RPM when I have the clutch pedal fully released. I can also smell metal similar to brake shoes when they stick. What could be the problem with my clutch and is there a clutch kit to fix it or is it possible the clutch mighty need to be replaced.

clutch is slipping and most likely has to be replaced.
