2008 dodge grand caravn sxt 3.8L. Recently, the tachometer has had a mind of its own

while driving the van/tachometer jumps up/down and has trouble shifting. U can drive steady on highway about 65mph and all of sudden the tachometer jumps to 3500-4000 rpms and does it often.

check trans fluid for full then scan for codes and check fuel pressure.
