2008 Dodge Caravan coolant system/heat

Had no heat for a few days replaced thermostat and hoses to front heater core and flushed coolant system. Today I foubd that the aluminum hoses under passenger side sliding door had ruptured in several places. its a group of aluminum hoses that are pre molded and run into the rear aux heater core what is the hose assembly called and what could cause the rupture?

I will take a look at whats its called.Age the elements old coolant etc caused it to fail.
