I was driving and my car started sputtering all of a sudden. I pressed on the accelerator and it got worse. I let off the accelerator and it acted like it was going to stall. I was able to drive to an auto parts place. He placed the machine on the car and the two codes that came up said to replace the gas cap (which I did 2 months ago already) and it was a misfire on the spark plug. The spark plugs were replaced this morning and it is still a rough idle. I was told that it's possible I need to replace my fuel filter. Can someone help me please?

misfires are very hard for the diy guy to diagnose, have a pro do it as it may even take him some time due to the multitude of things it can be. it would not be a fuel filter
