I was driving along and my engine died, the radio and lights were still working. I pulled to side of the road and it restarted without a problem. This happened twice today. Once i was going really slow, and the other time, about 40mph.

Is the engine running properly other than this issue? Has the check engine light come on?

Okay, I have more info now. Initially, this happened about 200 miles ago, then no problems since. I knew i should pay more attention to what exactly happened next time. So, yesterday, as i was slowing down to make a turn had the clutch pressed in to shift from 2 to 1st and it died in neutral. It only happens when i have the clutch pressed down and car is in neutral at low speed. The check engine light has not come on and the car drives great other that this, also it only happens occasionally. It has happened about 4 times in 300 miles.

I took car to mechanic today. I expalined the issue to him. He said it might have something to do with brake fliud spilling over??? or something. He changed the oil and filter and "cleaned brakes" and said everything was good and he didn't see any probems. One the drive home, it happened again!

I live on an island in the caribbean, so the there are only a few mechanics, and not necessarily the best. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can tell me things to get checked.
thanks!

Wow, I have no idea what your mechanic is doing. Brake fluid and cleaning the brakes has nothing to do with the engine stalling. As far as the problem, I would start by checking for engine vacuum leaks and also check the idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC is responsible for maintaining the engine idle speed.

Let me know what you find.
