Hi I am looking for advice: My VSA light came on, so I turned my car off then on. Once it was on again the VSA light came on again and 5 minutes after I see VSA light appear on the dash white smoke began to sift out from the hood of my car then my car made a puttering sound, vibrated and completely gave out. I had to get it towed and the tow truck driver stated that it looked wet all underneath like oil though there were no signs of visible leakage on the ground.

Only drove the car for about 20 minutes before this happened and ran it through the car was 5 minutes prior to the chaos.

Extra info:
My battery life was good and oil at 60%. Only use this car locally for all its life and never had any engine problems or car crashes.
Approx 180k miles

Within the last 4 months l've had the catalytic converter replaced, fluids checked and oil, and brakes fixed.

Please let me know your thoughts!

The VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) light in a 2008 Honda CR-V can illuminate for several reasons and probably does not have to do with the white smoke so please start another thread for this issue, the #1 reason for the VSA light will be one of the wheel speed sensors has gone bad or one of the wires got damaged due to road debris. Here is a guide to help us find out the code so we can see which one is having the issue out of the four.

Here is the location and how to change the sensor out in case a code for it is stored. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
