How do I fix the passenger seat flip release lever that allows to fold forward at top of seat?

It sounds like you have a control rod that was fallen off. You will need to remove the seat and then flip it over to inspect. There could be a small rod that has come disconnected that will need to be reattached. Here are diagrams below to help you see what I am talking about. The seat is stuck in a forward position and the lever does not work to allow the seat to move forward or backward.

You will have to remove the seat and see what is broken, you may be able to fit a new lever or the compleate actuator may have faild, you will just have to see which has failed.

Front passenger is stuck as far back as possible. Manual, not power, seats. How can i free it up?

Check to see if anything is stuck in the track. Also, make sure the lever is releasing the seat.

I have a '98 Chrysler Sebring LXI. The drver side seat is power and will only move up and down not forwad or backward. Could you help ?

If you can gear the motor running, the guide is off the track. You have to remove the seat out of the car, and place the guide back on the track.

If you can't hear the motor, chance is the motor burned out.
