dies while driving

vehicle will shut down while driving, dash will display starter disabled and will restart after setting for a few minutes. logs fault code p1601. seems to do it more often when the outside air temp is over 70 degrees. sometimes it will do it every couple of miles when driving.

I can't find anything with 1601. It sounds like an issue with the security system. When it does, have you been able to check for spark and fuel to the engine?

the code definition is 'serial communication problem device 1'.

i'm also finding ECM overtemp and ecm/tcm comunication problem.
