The cruise control does not work anymore. When you push on the button on the left side of the steering wheel to turn on, it comes on but when you go to set the cruise, nothing happens. There is no light on the dash showing it's on. It was intermittently working for awhile, but now it does not work at all. What has happened?

So, these cars have a spiral wire just behind the steering wheel that can break and cause the cruise control not to work. But the system does use 4 fuses to work which we should check first. This guide can help you and i have included the location of the fuses as well in the images below: BCM Fuse inside fuse panel on the left of dash. and the fuses # 43, 12 and 46 in the fuse panel under the hood.

If the fuses are okay chances are the spiral wire must be replaced to fix the problem. Here are the instructions on how to do the repair. I have also included the cruise control wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens. Disconnect the battery before you do the clock spring spiral wire.
