I have an aftermarket electric brake controller connected to the wiring harness in my 2008 silverado 4x4 5.3L 1LT (new body style). When I press the brakes, the electric brake controller activates but after I release the brakes, the electric brake controller does not disengage. I can get the electric brake controller to disengage by just lightly tapping the brake pedal. I've already swapped out the electric brake controller and I'm confident I have it wired correctly. The original electric brake controller was wired into the vehicle for 4 years now and working just fine up until 6 months ago. Is it the brake switch? Any suggestions on how to diagnose it?

Thanks,
Kevin

I would be checking that the brake light switch is coming all the way off and there is no voltage leaking when it is off.

Replacing the Brake Light Switch fixed the problem.
