Do I need a special tool to remove the lower radiator hose, does it matter if it is the left or right hose? I want to drain my coolant and I am unable to loosen the draincock

It probaly has a spring clamp on it, so you will need pliers to squeeze and remove the clamp, pull the lower rad. hose to drain, point it down after removal to drain as much as possible into suitable container.
