2008 Chevrolet Impala Heater Warm Only Car Motion Does Idling Air Temperature

the heater is warm only when the car is in motion. It does not warm up the car when idling, and the air temperature cools down when I stop at a light.

It could be a few things but I would start by check the coolant level (when engine is COLD).
If it's too low add some and see if that fixes your problem.
