How do I change the cabin air filter

Removal & Installation

1. Position the windshield wipers in the "up" position, by keying the ignition OFF when the wiper reach the desired position. Raise the hood.

2. Remove the rear hood seal from the pinchweld flange in the right rear corner. Remove the washer hose from the right air inlet grill panel and position aside.

3. Remove the two push pin retainers from the right air inlet grill panel. See Fig. 4.

IMPORTANT:
Do not remove the third push pin retainer from the right air inlet grill panel.

4. Position the left side of the right air inlet grill panel on to the windshield. Remove the passenger compartment air filter. See
Fig. 5. To install components, reverse removal procedure.

If you have one it wil be like in picture, you may have to remove wipers and vent grille in front of windshield.

It should be on the right side of the cowl when you open the hood.

I know the engine air filter is there, I was asking about a cabin (inside the car) filter. Is it still on the right side in the engine compartment?

Turn wipers on cut off ignition stoping blades in up position. Open hood remove hood rear seal half way from pass. Side to center. Remove the wiper arm and hose. Remove air inlet grill then remove filter

With hood closed, turn on windshield wipers.
Stop windshield wipers in raised position.
Raise the hood.
Position aside the rear hood seal halfway to the center.
Noting the installed position for reassembly reference, remove the wiper arms.
Disconnect windshield wiper hose from air inlet grill
Remove air inlet grille retainers and grille on right side.
Remove passenger compartment air filter.
To install, reverse removal procedure.

Remove the right air inlet grill.
Remove the passenger compartment air filter.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Install the passenger compartment air filter.
Install the air inlet grill. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
Install the rear hood seal.
Close the hood.
Return the windshield wipers to the PARK position.

I want to replace the cabin filter. The air conditioner ticks sometimes when the blower is running down to stop.

The filter is not hard to change but I assure you it is not causing your noise.

Removal Procedure

Position the windshield wipers in the UP position, by keying the ignition OFF when the wiper reach the desired position.
Open the hood.
Position aside the rear hood seal halfway to the center.
Remove the washer hose from the right air inlet grill panel and position aside.

Remove the 2 push pin retainers from the right air inlet grill panel.

Important: Do not remove the third push pin retainer from the right air inlet grill panel.

Position the left side of the right air inlet grill panel on to the windshield.
Remove the water deflector cover.
