Sometimes on these creatures it's not he power but the grounds. This system "toggles power" to either side of the motor the other is constant ground thru the switch to a bolt actually under the drivers carpet/ seat. Your switch also has the express down feature? This item is a litle MODULE built inside the switch. If it fails replace switch since both wires to the motor pass thru the module. Either way from the sound of it you used a power probe to test? Try again but disconnect the motor completely and power and ground direct just switch wires to go other way. If motor works fine both direction replace driver side switch.

This started off with just the dome/Courtesy light wouldn't turn on when I open the passenger door, but recently turned into the power window will not function on that door. I have tested for voltage coming off of the master switch and voltage coming to the window motor. When I press up it send 6.5v to the motor, but when I press down I get no voltage. So I purchased a used master switch for the center console (got one from Ebay) and decided to test it befor I attached it. The switch still performed the same way, with no voltage to the door in the dwn position and voltage in the up position. Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem?

Thanks for the electrical Schematic, I already have this diagram on hand, but was looking for further advice as to troubleshooting this problem. Could there be a ground issue, broken wire, how do I diagnose this problem?

Try this get jumper wires and hook-up at the battery positive and negative post and take the jumper wires straight to the window motor connect it -the motor will either go down or up then reverse the leads

Spoke with neighbor mechanic, he said to check the wires in the rubber sleeve from Chasie to Door, The second I opened it up I saw cracked and broken wires. Going to attmpt a splice for now, Neighbor says should hold a year, but overall I should replace it. What a crappy design on GM's part.

You need to remove the door panel, disconnect the wiring to the motor, drill out the factory rivits that hold the motor in place, remove the motor, and replace it with the new bolting it in place rather than rivits.

NOTE: Some windows have a tension spring that can uncoil when you remove the motor. Look for that and try to avoid allowing it to uncoil.

The power windows on the passenger side (both front and rear) do not work at all. Both driver side windows are fine.
