As I was taking of really fast, the clutch got stuck like if I never released it. After there was a smell like burning plastic

Sounds like a malfunction with the throw out bearing. It may require replacement of the assembly. Get a shop to check the clutch and verify. Get a bid for the repair as well.

Yes, I think you need to address it before you do further damage to the clutch or transmission.
