cruse control, Side step

2008 Cadillac Escalade

1-I have problem with cruse control some time is working some time is not.

2-Side step is not working.

Is it one side step, or both? If it is just one, I would suspect a faulty actuator. If both are not operating, it could go deeper. Does the cruise control power up with the switch, and just not set?

for the side step bothe side not working.

for thecruise control yes there is power put sometimes it is not set or while i am driving the set is gone even the power is on.

By chance is the disable switch for the running boards activated?

I have the same problem with my cruise control on my 2008 escalade ext, also with my cigarret lighter that keeps burning the fuse just as i try to put a new one in it pops. any idea what to do?

With the cigar lighter outlet situated as it is, it is a magnet for debris. Anything conductive will short it and open the fuse. Coins, jewelry, even gum wrappers contain some foil, and have been culprit. Check the outlet for debris, and see what happens. I am not sure just yet, if it is a power source for the cruise control. Reply to post after checking the above.
