2 yellow symbols coming up in the dash board

Hi there - I have BMW 118d E87/E47 M sport 5 door Hatchback Feb 2008.

There are two symbols are coming up in the dash board.

1. A symbol of steering wheel with a exclamation mark in it. It comes up in yellow when handbrake is off, and in red when nahdbrake is on.

2. An arrow running in anticlock direction with a traingle in the middle with an exclamation mark in the middle of traingle.

I would be much obliged if you would please be able to shade some light on it what do they represent and fault needs repairing and how to reset them etc.

That's a gear symbol not steering wheel. Transmission fault detected. Other with triangle is stability/traction control fault detected.
