Engine Noise

In the last few days my MDX has developed a tweeting-like sound from under the hood. It's there when idling and seems to diminish when accelerating. It's there in neutral and in gear. There is no change in anything else that I can discern. Any thoughts?

The car is otherwise been regularly cared for by the dealer and has never had any major problems

Start by checking for vacuum leaks. Rubber vacuum hoses can sometimes sound that way if they break or come disconnected. You will hear it the most when the engine is at an idle.
