Red steering light / no assist currently

Electroassist variable steering
Wreck I fromt end with drivers wheel airbag deployment only
Red steering light / no assist currently
Computer could not recognize steering wheel inputs
Changed optical sensor, IC board and hub that accomodates airbag from parts car...identical part numbers.
Still zero assist and still red dash light
Suggestions?

Was the steering torque sensor above the rack on the subframe damaged?
