When I turn off my car (Volkswagen beetle 2007) in display it's shoving trip and miles, in couple seconds it's disappear, but when I open my door to leave it's shows again, so I closing my car and in couple second it's disappear again until i'll open my door again. Is that normal?

I've gotta believe this is normal operation, most newer domestic cars's odometers work this way.
