2007 Toyota RAV4 Power Door Lock

The power door lock on the front passenger side does not function consistently together with the other doors, my husband's theory is that this was caused by my always bypassing the auto door lock (as I am always on the rush getting out and he always takes his sweet time unlocking the doors). Is this true? He's always nagging me as the one who caused the damage but I can't find anything to support this on the web, it's usually the actuator or some other reason. Help please.

This is usually an indicator of a door lock actuator on its way out. I do these all the time at work. I can easily duplicate it by pressing the lock and unlock button on the door a few times and the suspected door would just stop working. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by bypassing the auto lock feature either. Can you elaborate on that a little?

Thank you for your quick reply!

As to your question by what I mean about bypassing the auto lock feature, it means that I would unlock the passenger door myself manually without waiting for him to unlock everything using the controls on the driver side.

He said my doing this is what probably caused the auto lock on my side to become inconsistent (sometimes it locks together with the others, sometimes it does not). Is he justified in saying this. It's irritating that I have to wait for him to remember to unlock my door, or remind him every time to please unlock my door before I can go out.

Ok now I understand. But no, I've never heard of a door lock actuator being damaged due to manually unlocking the door. You're doing exactly what the auto unlock button does except by hand. They wouldn't give you the option of manually unlocking the door if it damaged the component. It's just coincidence that it happened on your door.
