I have a 2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited with the 2.4L 4-cylinder and about 180,000 miles. The check-engine/VSC lights keep returning after the codes are cleared.
The main codes are P0102 (MAF circuit low input) and P0335 (crankshaft position sensor A circuit). I have also had P0420 previously.
Earlier the vehicle had rough idle/stalling and would sometimes restart and die. It is running considerably better now, but the codes have returned after driving it for a while.
I have already cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body, checked/tightened the air intake and air-box connections, checked some vacuum hoses, and disconnected/reset the battery. An earlier freeze-frame showed an unusually low MAF reading and an intake-air-temperature reading around -40°F.
My main question: Since P0102 and P0335 are occurring together, should I be looking at two bad sensors, or could a shared wiring/connector/ground/ECM power issue cause both codes? What tests would you perform before replacing the MAF or crankshaft sensor?
I have an OBD-II scanner that can display live data, so if there are specific readings you want me to check while idling or driving, please tell me which ones.
