The transmission has stopped working with the exception of reverse

I have a axio nze141 with a cvt transmission. The transmission has stopped working with the exception of reverse. Can anyone give me a clue as to what the problem could be and how to fix it?

CVT transmissions can give first time owners headaches because they do not act like normal transmissions.

Having said that, they are also highly specialized and need to be worked on by dealer or high end garage.

I have a similar vehicle with a similar problem, NZE 141 but it is a 2008 wagon. I was only getting reverse. It was recommend me to replace the transmission by the mechanic at the dealer and the people who repair transmissions because the repair cost is high and the repairs my not last very long. These are tough to rebuild.
