When replacing a valve cover gasket what to use to clean the valve cover?

For a DIY guy, petrol would be the easiest option. There are aerosol cleaners available at parts stores.

If there are a lot of sludge which you want to remove, soaking in detergents would be the recommended but it requires time for the sludge to be dislodge.

No, you ask for cleaning agents. Petrol is purchased from gas stations.

How much is 96 inch pound when tighting the valve cover would that be 9 foots pound?
