Rev counter is running a bit high

Noticed on the car that the rev counter is running a bit high never goes under 1000 and sometimes goes to just under 3000 when I change gear. Rev counter running high.

If the MIL is indicating, get a scan done to check for truble codes. If no, check the Idle Air Control valve. Ensure coolant level is correct in cooling system.

Check for vacuum leaks.
