My car started to overheat so I pulled over and let it cool down for about 30mins. After the car was back at a cool level I drove it home but the chiming that let me know my car was overheating never turned off. My car has been parked about 5hours now and the chime is still going off.

Hello,

You will need to clear the codes to get the chime to stop.

Here is a guide to help you get the problem fixed.

Please let me know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Best, Ken

I had the same problem with my 2007 XL7 (chime would not stop). The only fix was to disconnect the battery negative and then reconnect it. This fixed the problem. There were no codes when I checked with a scanner. To access the battery just slide the top section back 1 inch and lift off, then lift the battery cover off by pressing the two metal tabs behind the cover. To get the cover back on you will have to bang it with your fist to reposition the front part into place. Use a 10 mm wrench to disconnect the battery.
