Does the mass air flow sensor have anything to do with the stabilitrac coming on when not needed? Seems to happen in winter months. Daughters car worried about highway speeds. Been told numerous fixes!

No it shouldn't only way to see what is causing it is to have a pro scan for codes as it may be an abs problem or a wiring issue. Auto parts can't scan for that
