Try the key first and check all fuses. If the latch is broken then you will need to unbolt it from the inside this means you must remove the rear seat and crawl in to access the latch.

checked 22 and 23 in fuse box -- both good, nothing is listed for tunk ----where shoukd I go from here

Have you checked to see if you are getting power to the actuator in the trunk? It may be bad.
