Why would my stock '07 Pontiac G5 Gt be running lean?

is there a check engine light on? there could be several reasons, a bad oxygen sensor, coolant temp. sensor. a loose gas cap(should be clicked several times past the tightened feel). egr valve. vacuum leak. a computer scan should have given you a pretty good idea, do you have the scan code(s) so I can look them up?
