Dear professional

I am from Mongolia. My Armada 2007 is not accelarating after the engine coolant gauge reaches H and it turns off on the way. When try to turn on then it does not. It only turns on after the coolant gauge shows cools down after 10 minutes of stop.

The dealership says it is Fuel Pump. But in here the service guys are not so professional and they have not much experience of same issue.

My thought is that Thermostat could have stucked. Bcz before above thing happened, sometimes I smelled hot coolat smell. That time I thought there is leakage.

Please advise me.

F the thermostat is bad it will heat up to hot within a few minutes of running. If you replace it then it shold fix it. If not then pressure check coolant system for a leak like ahead or intake gasket. Check to make sure cooling fans work when it goes to hot. If all that is ok then shut off engine when hot and feel radiator for cold spots if you feel any then the radiator is bad.

Dear sir

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes, cooling fan is working normally.

Here is some situations that may help us to find out best possible solution:

1. Coolant boils after driving 10-15KM during 30C weather temp
2. Coolant smells when accelerate higher or drive to incline way
3. 1 month ago I filled up the coolant then just 2 days ago when showed to service person he added 3-4L to fill up again
4. When coolant reaches H then no accelaration
5. After 10 minutes it turns on
6. Someday when I saw at radiator cap, it was kind of worn

i will check as you said:

Radiator cold spots.
Termostat.

BAT

If yu are using coolant have the coolant system pressure checked for leaks you may have a head gasket problem.
