2007 Nissan Altima Car Battery Recently Died Ve Been Getting Jump Last Days

My car battery has recently died and I've been getting a jump for the last few days well I was getting a jump to go buy a new battery and when I put my car into drive it doest accelerate at all. What could cause this problem?

If the battery is weak or drained, it can cause problems with erratic shifts and transmission problems.
