2007 Mini One 07 Plate That Will Gear Move This Happened Driving Backwards

I have a Mini One (07 plate) that will go in gear but will not move, this happened as I was driving. It will not go backwards or forward however can go in gear- even when not pressing the clutch. The car starts fine but will not move. Any advise? What is the issue of my car?

it sounds like a clutch failure.

you will need to have it verified by a shop and repairs made
