the running board on the drivers side is down and it will not go up how do I figure out if its the motor for it or something else

the motor can be monitored and commanded on and off by a shop with a scan tool to make sure it is not a commend issue instead of the motor itself. be carefull applying voltage to the motor as you may damage it trying it. i suggest letting a shop help with the diag at the very minimum.
