Ok.I was driving and yesterday could hear a occasional scraping sound from rear end. So I parked and got underneath the rear. To my suprise the bracket-driver side (I assume is a lower control arm ) was hanging down on the inner side close to the ground. Within an inch from the ground. Upon further inspection it appears the mounting bracket where this side of the control arm had been rusted and broke free. So now there is no way to reattach this as the mounting bracket is shot.I realized driving it would be dangerous. It will not lift back up easily, not by hand.I put a jack under the control arm and manually jacked it back up to regular height. Then sashed it with a rope to give it more ground clearance. It is still not completely proper height but it is clear of scraping the ground.I could probably have the mounting bracket re-welded to accomidate the arm. Or have this bracket completely replaced. It runs from left wheel to right on the under body which is where the inner control arms bolt to. As it is it does not seem to be affecting thw wheel camber and it drives ok. But I need this fixed immediately. Is it safe to drive in this state for a few days?Is there any ideas on the problem?
