2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Electronic Range Shift Selector Ers Does Engage

The electronic range shift selector (ERS) does not engage. My automatic transmission works fine but I can't manually downshift or upshift using the shift lever. Is this an easy fix (fuse, for example)?

no, it is not.

the trans system has to be scanned for codes to see where the failure is located.
