Hi there,

We recently got a used the vehicle listed above. There were only a few tiny problems!

One being the passenger side power window doesn’t roll down. It’s always up. However, I just discovered that it does sometimes roll down, only about an inch down, and then it makes a deep buzzing sound. I can then roll it back up. But then once again it refuses to roll down. It’s like I have to hit it to get it to roll down that crack.

This is not the biggest issue, however it would be cool if anyone who knows cars knew if there’s a way to get it fixed, if it’s at home, or how much it would probably cost somewhere else.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Does the noise sound like grinding? If so, chances are either the regulator needs to be replaced or the motor itself.

I need to know something. When you press the button to lower it, do you always hear the sound or does nothing happen?

I attached a pic below showing the motor. I highlighted the motor and cables. I suspect the gear that drives the cables to the regulator has failed if you are getting a grinding sound.

Do me a favor. Record the sound it makes and upload it for me to hear. Hopefully, that will help me.

Take care,

Joe

Hey there,

I do not have my car with me now, however, I will try to capture a video later tonight. As I mentioned prior, the window only rolls down that inch periodically. I thought banging on it was the answer, but it still is pretty random when it decides to roll down.

It does not make the grinding noise when it rolls down the one inch. No noise at all. However, it stops at the one-inch mark and just makes this horrible loud jamming noise. It's a loud buzzing noise and actually rattles the door a little.

No. The sound does not happen when you push the button, and it does not roll down. It only makes that jamming noise when it finally decides to roll down one inch. It does not make a noise when you roll it up one inch.

I will attach a video tonight as soon as possible. It may take me a while to get it to actually do the thing. I really appreciate your time!

Thanks,
-Cassie
