brake light not going off

2007 Hummer H3 driver brake light not going off after vehicle is off a while all swithes off pulled battery cable and reinstalled still on does this mean something?

brake lights work when you press brake pedal,the light on is the running light on just driver side, when you turn lights on both tail lights are on?
