Just recently I"ve been hearing a funny noise when i accelerate from the driver front tire area.

I was wondering if maybe i had a nail in my tire. I checked under the hood to see if i could visually see any poped belts etc.

Check for a nail, or a deformed tyre, check wheel bearings as well, start here.
