Out of the blue our barina just didn't start when at the beach the other day. So we push started it then drove for an hour fuelled up with gas then tried to start it again and once again it did not start. We got it going again got home left it over night and I went to the shop and back the next morning with no problems. Then it failed to start again today. Any idea what the problem might be and how do I fix it?

Hello,

This sounds like the starter is beginning to go bad and needs replacement. Here is a guide to show you what you are in for when doing the job.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-replace-a-starter-motor

Use a test light and check the trigger wire of the starter conform the failure.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-a-test-light-circuit-tester

Tighten the starter mounting bolts to 43 N.m (32 lb ft).

Position the starter electrical wire on the solenoid terminal. Install the starter solenoid nuts. Tighten the starter solenoid nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

Here is what it will be like on your car (below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
