How do you change the drivers side mirror over?

I went to the City recently and someone sideswiped my car and took my drivers side mirror off. I have purchased a new mirror but need some instructions on how to install it. The old mirror still has some of the old frame so I will have to remove it first.

We don't have the references to this vehicle-

It probably has a cover plate that you have to unsnap to get to the holding bolts/nuts and wiring also check behind the door panel
