2007 GMC Yukon burning oil

Do you think its ok that GMC allows its 2007 5.3L Vortec engine to burn 1qt. Of oil per 1000 miles. And do you think thats a little to much for normal operation. Or have you heard of the problems that they are having with this particular engine?

No it is not ok to burn that much oil, I had same problem with my yukon, I was fighting with a dealership for over a year with stupid oil consuption tests, and finaly they changed the rings.
Guidelines for oil consuption are not 1gt in 1000 miles, its 1qt in 2000 miles.
