07 GMC 4.3 L V6, Dash Display- engine hot, AC is off. Temperature hand falls to bottom. Checked under hood no steam, not boiling over. Any ideas.

Have this truck scanned and you will probaly come up with a p0128 code, what it means is that your Thermostat is not working correctly and the PCM has taken action ie:hot/ac off and usaully turns the electric fan on. I have started to see this problem on few GM trucks and cars, The fix is a new T-stat and you must clear the check engine light and should return to normal after T-stat replacement.
