I went in for smog check today, and failed with these two codes (p0014, p0017). Does this sound like a problem with the camshaft sensor, or the timing chain. I haven't had any problems with the car, just the check engine light.

It could be a few things. First, yes it could be a crank or cam sensor. Also, it could be related to a wiring problem. Check that too. Also, it could deal with camshaft position actuator, the camshaft phaser... Do you have a real time scanner to do checks?
