bad ignition coil

i have cylinder #2 misfire with bad knock and ping sound will new ignition coil fix problem 2007 ford taurus se only 98000 miles on 3.0 L engine?

The bad ping sound concerns me. If the coil is bad, it needs replaced. My worry is the noise. Remove the spark plug and make sure nothing on the spark plug broke and is banging around in the cylinder.
