scan for codes , check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it, and check for a vacuum leak.

I got a cheap code reader that just reads codes the only codes it is coming up with is p0455 which says its a evap emissions leak

it cold be the solenoid on the evap canister leaking. but should be smoke tested. if you check what I said in reply should fix it. also clean your throttle plate on both sides with choke cleaner and iac hole. see pic for causes and gas cap must click three times after a gas fill up
