hi last night my 07 ford focus started to overheat as a water pipe had burst and i had no water. i refilled the tank and started the car and found the leak. the problem i have is the battery went dead why did it go dead and now my bonnet wont open

The battery may not have been getting charged if the alternator was saturated with coolant or the belt was slipping from the coolant. Have it checked to make sure the alt is still working. Most parts stores will do it for free. As far as the hood not opening, check to make sure the release cable is attached where you release from.
